We hope that by giving to the community, searchers will come to us first for their investment capital needs.
Why do you only have 50 listings per day? Other aggregators claim there are hundreds?
We prioritize quality over quantity. Listings are carefully filtered to remove spam and deduplicated across sources, so each opportunity you see is high-quality and unique.
A brokerage I like has strong listings in my area. Why isn't it included?
Some firms have a more limited national footprint and may not yet be captured. We're always expanding - please reach out to info@jamestown-capital.com with suggestions or requests.
Can't I just build this with <insert favorite LLM here>?
In theory, yes. In practice, it's more complex than it appears. We've had the luxury of approaching this with owning our physical infrastructure, existing codebases and decades of pre-AI development experience.
What if a listing doesn't have an EBITDA?
Some listings don't include an EBITDA or a proxy like SDE. For example, a restaurant listing might only show revenue and asking price. If you set an EBITDA filter (e.g., $200K–$500K), that restaurant won't appear in your results because there's no EBITDA to match against. To see all listings regardless of whether they report EBITDA, simply leave the EBITDA filter blank.
How does the radius filter work?
If you specify a radius, we will match listings within that radius from the center of the location. If you do not specify a radius, we will match listings that overlap the bounding-box of your location. We are also conservative and will always match listings for a larger area if they overlap a more specific area. For instance, a business with location "Florida" will be matched by a filter with value "Miami".
How do the industry filters work?
Each business listing is assigned a NAICS industry code. When you specify an industry filter, we find listings with closely related NAICS codes. For example, filtering for "restaurants" will also surface listings in catering, food trucks, and similar food service businesses.
